Girraween Primary is involved in the Commonwealth Bank’s School Banking Program. If your child would like to get involved in the School Banking Program and don’t have a Youth Saver Account, there are two simple ways you can open one:
Visit commbank.com.au/schoolbanking and click on the link to open a Youth Saver Account
Visit any Commonwealth Bank branch and staff will assist you.
Parents will need to bring along identification for themselves and their child (drivers licence and birth certificate). Accounts can be opened from a mobile, tablet or desktop device so parents will have the flexibility or opening the account on the spot at their own leisure. For all new accounts opened online where they have selected to participate in School Banking, a welcome pack will be mailed to their home address, including a Dollarmites deposit wallet and book.
Our school council meets monthly and all parents are welcome to attend meetings (see the school calendar for dates and times each month). The school council is very proactive and there are many opportunities for parents to get involved in school life.
The school council is responsible for many of the amazing school upgrades we have had over the years including playground and courtyard upgrades.
SCHOOL COUNCIL TASK GROUPS:
We run three stalls a year and our craft group make and source items for sale. New members are always welcome to our working bees.
